# Call any number on any page

> Click a phone link, right-click a number, or type one into the panel, and call it through Salesfinity.

export const VideoLoop = ({src, poster, caption, aspect = "3/2", label}) => {
  const video = useRef(null);
  const [still, setStill] = useState(false);
  useEffect(() => {
    const el = video.current;
    if (!el) return;
    el.muted = true;
    const reduce = typeof window !== "undefined" && window.matchMedia && window.matchMedia("(prefers-reduced-motion: reduce)").matches;
    if (reduce) {
      el.pause();
      setStill(true);
      return;
    }
    const played = el.play();
    if (played && played.catch) played.catch(() => setStill(true));
  }, [src]);
  return <figure className="sf-video not-prose">
      <div className="sf-video-frame">
        <video ref={video} className="sf-video-el" src={src} poster={poster} autoPlay muted loop playsInline preload="metadata" controls={still} aria-label={label || caption || "Product demo loop"} style={{
    aspectRatio: aspect
  }} />
      </div>
      {caption ? <figcaption className="sf-video-caption">{caption}</figcaption> : null}
    </figure>;
};

Any phone number you find on the web becomes a Salesfinity call in one or two clicks.
You skip the copy and paste, and the call still goes out from your Salesfinity caller ID and gets logged.

<VideoLoop src="/videos/anywhere-call.mp4" poster="/videos/posters/anywhere-call.jpg" caption="A phone number on a company's contact page opens in the Salesfinity panel, ready to call." aspect="16/9" />

**Before you start:** [install Salesfinity Anywhere](/anywhere/install), sign in, and allow your microphone.

## Three ways to start a call

<Tabs>
  <Tab title="Click a phone link">
    Many websites show phone numbers as links. Click one and the Salesfinity panel opens with that
    number, instead of another calling app.

    A normal click is all it takes. If you hold **Cmd**, **Ctrl**, **Shift** or **Alt** while you click,
    Chrome does what it usually does and Salesfinity stays out of the way.
  </Tab>

  <Tab title="Right-click a number">
    Some numbers are plain text, not links. Highlight the number with your mouse, right-click, and
    choose **Call "…" with Salesfinity**.

    Select just the number. If the selection has no number Salesfinity can read, Chrome shows a
    notification: **No phone number in that selection**.
  </Tab>

  <Tab title="Type it in the panel">
    Open the panel on any page that is not a CRM record. You see **Call anyone**, with one box for a
    **Name, email or phone number**.

    * Type a number and click **Call**, or press **Enter**.
    * Type a name or email to search your Salesfinity contacts. Pick a person to see their numbers,
      then click the phone icon next to the one you want.
    * Use the keypad if you prefer to tap.

    On a CRM record, click **Call someone else** to get the same box.
  </Tab>
</Tabs>

## Check before you dial

Numbers picked up from a web page do not dial straight away. The panel shows a **Call this number**
screen first, so you can catch a wrong number before it rings.

<Steps>
  <Step title="See who it is">
    Salesfinity checks whether the number belongs to one of your contacts. If it does, you see their
    name, title and company. If not, you see **Not one of your contacts. The call will be logged
    against the number.**
  </Step>

  <Step title="Check the time where they are">
    When Salesfinity knows the contact's time zone, the panel warns you if it is outside weekday
    business hours (8 AM to 5 PM their time). It is a reminder, not a block.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Pick your caller ID">
    Under **Call from**, choose which of your Salesfinity numbers to call from. The panel remembers
    your choice for next time.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Call">
    Click **Call**. If the number has an extension, the panel shows it under the number.
  </Step>
</Steps>

## During and after the call

* **Mute**, open the keypad, or hang up from the panel. You can also press **Alt+Shift+M** to mute
  and **Alt+Shift+H** to hang up from any tab.
* Close the panel if you need room. The call keeps going. Reopen the panel to get your controls back.
* When the call ends, pick a **Disposition**, add **Notes**, and click **Save call**. Click **Skip** if
  you do not want to log it.

<Note>
  A number you call from a web page is never attached to the CRM record open in another tab. It is
  logged to the matching Salesfinity contact, or to the number alone if there is no match.
</Note>

## Tips

<AccordionGroup>
  <Accordion title="The panel picked up the wrong number">
    Click **Cancel** on the **Call this number** screen. Then highlight just the digits you want and
    use the right-click menu, or type the number into **Call anyone**.
  </Accordion>

  <Accordion title="The page opens a different calling app">
    Some sites use their own click-to-call buttons that are not phone links. Highlight the number and
    right-click instead.
  </Accordion>

  <Accordion title="I want to dial a whole list">
    The panel dials one number at a time. For a list, start a session in the Salesfinity web app,
    where parallel dialing is available on eligible plans.
