# Call, email and sequence from Salesforce and HubSpot

> Use the Salesfinity buttons on a contact or lead record to call, email or add someone to a sequence, and log the call to that record.

  const labels = {

    beta: "Beta"
  };
  const key = labels[kind] ? kind : "early-access";
  return <span className={`sf-status sf-status-${key}`}>{children || labels[key]}</span>;
};

Open a contact in your CRM and Salesfinity is already there: **Call**, **Email** and **Sequence** sit
right on the record. You work your CRM list without copying a single number, and each call is filed
against the record you called from.

<VideoLoop src="/videos/anywhere-record.mp4" poster="/videos/posters/anywhere-record.jpg" caption="On a CRM contact record, the Salesfinity panel shows the same person, ready to call or add to a sequence." aspect="16/9" />

**Before you start:** [install Salesfinity Anywhere](/anywhere/install) and sign in. Your team also needs
[Salesforce](/integrations/salesforce) or [HubSpot](/integrations/hubspot) connected in Salesfinity.
The panel reads each record through that connection.

## Where the buttons appear

| CRM | Records |
| - | - |
| **Salesforce** | Contacts and Leads, in Lightning and Classic. Sandbox orgs work too. |
| **HubSpot** | Contacts |

On these records, a small **SALESFINITY** band appears below the record's own action buttons. It
holds **Call**, **Email** and **Sequence**. If the CRM page has no room for it, the buttons move to a
floating Salesfinity badge instead.

Other record types, such as accounts, companies and deals, do not show the buttons. Open the contact
or lead first.

## Call from a record

<Steps>
  <Step title="Click Call on the record">
    Click **Call** in the Salesfinity band. The panel opens and dials the first phone number on the
    record right away.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Or pick a number in the panel">
    To choose a different number, open the panel first. Under **Phone numbers** you see every number
    on the record, labelled **Mobile**, **Direct**, **Office** or **Work**. Click the phone icon next to
    the one you want.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Choose your caller ID">
    Under **Call from**, pick which of your Salesfinity numbers to use. The panel remembers it.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Talk">
    Mute, use the keypad, or hang up from the panel. Close the panel if you need the space. The call
    keeps going.
  </Step>
</Steps>

<Tip>
  With the panel open on a record, press **C** to call, **E** to email and **S** to add to a sequence.
</Tip>

The panel also lists **Recent calls** to this person's number, with the disposition, when it
happened and any notes. Check it before you dial so you know how the last call went.

## Log the call

When the call ends, the panel switches to **Log the call**.

1. Pick a **Disposition**. The list is the same one your team uses in the Salesfinity dialer.
2. Add **Notes** about what happened.
3. Click **Save call**.

Salesfinity saves the call with the CRM record's identity, so it syncs to that record in your CRM the
same way dialer calls do. This works even if the person is not a Salesfinity contact yet.

<Note>
  Click **Skip** to leave a call unlogged. A call you skip is not written to your CRM.
</Note>

## Email from a record

<Status kind="early-access" />

**Email** sends a one-off email from your Salesfinity Sequencer mailbox, without leaving the CRM.

<Steps>
  <Step title="Click Email">
    Click **Email** on the record, or press **E** in the panel. The record needs an email address.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Write or insert a template">
    Check **From** and **To**. Use **Insert a template** to start from one of your Salesfinity templates.
    Template fields are filled in for this person. Any field Salesfinity cannot fill is listed under
    the editor, so you can fix it before sending.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Send">
    Click **Send**, or press **Cmd+Enter** (**Ctrl+Enter** on Windows). The panel confirms with
    **Email sent**.
  </Step>
</Steps>

Email needs a Sequencer mailbox that is connected, not paused, and assigned to you. If none is ready,
the panel says **No mailbox can send right now**, tells you why, and links to your mailbox settings.

<Info>
  Email from the panel works for people who are already Salesfinity contacts. For someone who is only
  in your CRM, add them to a sequence first or open them in Salesfinity.
</Info>

## Add someone to a sequence

<Status kind="early-access" />

<Steps>
  <Step title="Click Sequence">
    Click **Sequence** on the record, or press **S** in the panel.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Pick a sequence">
    Search your active sequences. Each one shows how many email, call and task steps it has, and how
    many people are in it.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Add them">
    Click **Add to sequence**. The panel confirms with **Added to sequence**.
  </Step>
</Steps>

If the person is not in Salesfinity yet, Salesfinity creates the contact from the CRM record's name,
title, company, email and first phone number. The record must have an email address for this to work.

If you see **No active sequences**, create or activate one in Salesfinity first.
