# Get past automated call screeners

> Play a recorded intro when a phone asks who is calling, and keep dialing while the person decides.

export const Status = ({kind = "early-access", children}) => {
  const labels = {
    "early-access": "Early access",
    "coming-soon": "Coming soon",
    beta: "Beta"
  };
  const key = labels[kind] ? kind : "early-access";
  return <span className={`sf-status sf-status-${key}`}>{children || labels[key]}</span>;
};

<Status kind="beta" />

When a phone's call screener answers and asks for your name and reason, Salesfinity plays a short
intro you recorded. You don't have to stop and talk to the screener yourself.

More and more phones screen unknown callers. Without an answer, the call never reaches the person.
With the **Automated Call Screener**, the screener gets a clear answer while you keep dialing other
contacts.

The **Automated Call Screener** is in beta on Enterprise and Enterprise+ seats. It works with
**AI Parallel Dialing** only. During the beta, Salesfinity turns it on team by team.

## Set it up

<Steps>
  <Step title="Record your intro">
    In **Dialer**, click **Preferences**. In the **Automated Call Screener (Beta)** card, click
    **Manage Recordings**. Under **Add Call Screening Recording**, click **Start recording**.

    Say who you are and why you are calling, in one or two short sentences.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Save it">
    Click **Stop and save recording**, give it a **Recording name**, and click **Save**.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Turn it on">
    Back in **Preferences**, make sure **AI Parallel Dialing** is on. Then switch on **Automated
    Call Screener (Beta)**, pick your recording, and click **Save**.
  </Step>
</Steps>

<Tip>
  Answer the two questions screeners ask: your name and your reason. For example: "Hi, this is Maya
  from Acme. I'm calling about your team's outbound hiring." Keep it short, so the person hears it
  before they decide.
</Tip>

## What happens on a screened call

<Steps>
  <Step title="The screener answers">
    Salesfinity recognizes a standard call screener on one of your lines.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Your intro plays">
    Salesfinity plays your recording to the screener. Then it waits on that line for up to 60
    seconds for the person to pick up.
  </Step>

  <Step title="You keep dialing">
    While that line waits, the dialer starts ringing more contacts, so your session doesn't stall.
  </Step>

  <Step title="The person picks up">
    If the person answers and you are free, you are connected. If you are already on another call,
    or you end the session, the waiting line is hung up.
  </Step>
</Steps>

<Note>
  With the Automated Call Screener off, a number that screened you before is dialed on its own and
  you are put on the line from the first ring, so you can answer the screener yourself.
</Note>
