# Choose the numbers you call from

> Buy caller IDs, bring your own number, and rotate between them so each one stays healthy.

Pick the phone numbers your calls come from, and let **SmartRotate** spread your calls across them.

The number people see decides whether they pick up. Using several clean numbers, and switching
between them, keeps any one number from being marked as spam.

## See your numbers

In **Dialer**, click **Preferences**. The **Phone Number** card shows your **Primary phone
number**, the one your calls use by default. You can also switch it from the dialer header before a
session.

Each number shows a few badges:

| Badge | Meaning |
| - | - |
| **Clean** | No carrier has tagged this number as spam. |
| **Bad** | At least one carrier has tagged it as spam. SmartRotate skips it. |
| **N% CR** | The connect rate of calls from this number. |
| **Your number** | A number you brought and verified. |

To add or remove numbers, click **Manage numbers** in the **Phone Number** card. This opens
**Phone number management**.

## Buy a number

<Steps>
  <Step title="Pick a country and area code">
    In **Phone number management**, stay on **Buy a number**. Choose **US** or **CA**, type an
    area code, and browse the available numbers.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Add the numbers you want">
    Click **+** next to a number to add it to **Your phone numbers**. When you reach your plan's
    limit, the page tells you the maximum.
  </Step>
</Steps>

Or click **Auto Pick**. Salesfinity suggests US numbers from a mix of area codes to fill your open
slots. Review them and click **Confirm & Add**. SmartRotate turns on for you.

| Plan | Numbers per seat | Countries |
| - | - | - |
| Silver | 5 | US, CA |
| Gold | 10 | US, CA, UK (+44) |
| Enterprise and Enterprise+ | 10, or the limit agreed for your team | US, CA, UK (+44) |

## Use your own number

You can call from your own phone number, such as your mobile, after you prove it's yours.

<Steps>
  <Step title="Enter your number">
    In **Phone number management**, open **Use your own**. Type the number with its country code,
    for example +1 415 555 2671.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Answer the verification call">
    Click **Call me to verify**. Salesfinity shows a 6-digit code and calls the number. Answer and
    type the code on your keypad. The call is in English.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Pick it in the dialer">
    Once verified, the number shows **Your number**. Pick it in the dialer whenever you want your
    own caller ID.
  </Step>
</Steps>

<Warning>
  Carriers trust your own number less. Numbers bought in Salesfinity are registered with the
  carriers and get full caller-ID attestation. A number you bring can only get partial attestation,
  which makes a "Spam Likely" label more likely over time. Calls back to your own number ring your
  phone directly. They are not logged, recorded, or answered in the dialer.
</Warning>

## Rotate numbers with SmartRotate

**SmartRotate** switches between your numbers as you dial. After a set number of calls, the next
call goes out from your next number.

1. In **Preferences**, find **SmartRotate** in the **Phone Number** card.
2. Pick how many calls each number makes before switching: 5, 10, 15, 20, 25 or 40.
3. Switch it on and click **Save**.

SmartRotate only uses numbers marked **Clean** in the same country as your primary number. You need
at least two of them to turn it on. Your admin can limit the calls-per-number choices you see.

### Match the contact's country

With SmartRotate on, switch on **Country Matching** to call each contact from one of your numbers in
their country. It picks the number you've used least.

### Match the contact's area code

On Enterprise and Enterprise+ seats, SmartRotate also offers **Smart Connect**. It shows a caller ID
that matches the area code of US and Canadian contacts, when Salesfinity has a number for that area
code. Otherwise, the call goes out from your own numbers as usual.
