# Drop voicemails and log every call

> Leave a recorded voicemail without listening to the greeting, and log each call in a few clicks.

Record your voicemail once and Salesfinity leaves it on every answering machine for you. Then log
each real conversation with a disposition and a note before the next call rings.

This keeps your session moving and your CRM honest. You never wait for a beep, and every call ends
up in your call history with the right outcome.

## Drop a voicemail for you

**Voicemail Drop** works with **AI Parallel Dialing**, which is on Gold, Enterprise and
Enterprise+ seats.

<Steps>
  <Step title="Record your voicemail">
    In **Dialer**, click **Preferences**. In the **Voicemail Drop** card, click **Manage
    Voicemails**. Under **Add New Voicemail**, click **Start recording** and speak into your
    microphone.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Save it">
    Click **Stop and save recording**. Listen back, give it a **Voicemail name**, and click
    **Save**. To try again, click **Stop and re-record**.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Turn on Voicemail Drop">
    Back in **Preferences**, switch on **Voicemail Drop**, pick your recording from the list, and
    click **Save**.
  </Step>
</Steps>

From now on, when a line reaches voicemail, Salesfinity waits for the beep or the silence after the
greeting, then plays your recording. You keep talking or dialing the whole time. The call is
logged as **Left Voicemail** for you.

<Tip>
  Keep a few recordings, for example one per campaign, and switch between them in **Preferences**.
  Your browser asks for microphone access the first time you record.
</Tip>

When Voicemail Drop is off, Salesfinity hangs up on machines without leaving anything.

## Log a call

When a live call ends, the **Call Outcome** panel opens next to the contact.

<Steps>
  <Step title="Pick a disposition">
    Choose what happened from **Disposition**, such as **Answered - Meeting Set** or
    **Gatekeeper**. It is the only required field.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Add a note">
    Type in **Call note**. Click **Generate** to have AI write a summary of the call into the note
    once the transcript is ready.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Plan what's next (optional)">
    Add a **Follow-up Task** with a date and priority, or **Snooze contact** for a few weeks or
    months so they drop out of your lists until then. Tick **Wrong number** if the number belongs
    to someone else.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Log it">
    Click **Log call and continue** to save and start the next batch. Click **Log and pause** to
    save and take a break. Click **Send email** to write a follow-up email from the call first.
  </Step>
</Steps>

Some CRMs add a field. Salesloft lists ask for **Call sentiment**. ActiveCampaign lists ask whether
to complete the task. Apollo, Amplemarket and Lemlist lists offer **Sequence Action (Optional)**,
to keep the person in their sequence or remove them.

## Calls logged for you

You only fill in the form for people you spoke to. Salesfinity logs every other call on its own:

| What happened | Logged as |
| - | - |
| Your voicemail was left | **Left Voicemail** |
| Nobody answered, the line was busy, or a machine picked up with Voicemail Drop off | **No Answer** |
| The line was hung up before anyone answered | **Cancelled** |

## The dispositions

Every team starts with these dispositions. Your CRM connection maps each one to the matching
outcome in your CRM.

| Disposition | Use it when |
| - | - |
| **Answered - Meeting Set** | You booked a meeting. |
| **Answered - Not Interested** | They said no. |
| **Answered - Call back later** | They asked you to call another time. |
| **Answered - Reach out in 6 months** | The timing is wrong for now. |
| **Answered - Send an email** | They asked for an email instead. |
| **Answered - Referral** | They pointed you to someone else. |
| **Answered - Wrong Contact** | You reached the wrong person. |
| **Answered - No Longer with Company** | The person has left. |
| **Answered - Do not call again** | They asked not to be called. Nobody on your team will dial this number again. |
| **Gatekeeper** | You reached an assistant or front desk. |
| **Bad Number** | The number doesn't work. |
| **No Answer**, **Left Voicemail**, **Cancelled** | Usually logged for you. |

To add your own dispositions, open your CRM's settings in **Settings › Connections** and click
**Add New Disposition**.

<Note>
  Logged the wrong outcome? Open the call in **Analytics › Call history** and change its disposition.
</Note>

## Try a contact's other numbers

Many contacts have more than one number. With **Multi-Number Dialing** on, the dialer tries the
contact's next number right away when a call ends without a conversation. That happens when a call
is logged for you, and when you log **Gatekeeper**, **Answered - Wrong Contact**, **Answered - No Longer with
Company**, **No Answer** or **Bad Number**.

Turn it on in **Preferences › Other Options**.
