# Answers about Ari

> Quick answers on who can use Ari, what it does without asking, what it costs, and where its data comes from.

Find out what Ari will and won't do before you hand it real work.
The short version: Ari reads and drafts on its own, and it asks you before it changes, sends or
spends anything.

## Getting started

<AccordionGroup>
  <Accordion title="Who can use Ari?">
    Ari is available on Enterprise and Enterprise Plus seats, and on Admin seats. If you have it,
    you see **Ari** in the left sidebar. See [Choose the right plan](/account/plans).
  </Accordion>

  <Accordion title="What happened to the AI Companion?">
    The AI Companion is now Ari. It's the same assistant with a new name, and your chats, skills
    and memories carried over.
  </Accordion>

  <Accordion title="What can I ask Ari to do?">
    Ask for an outcome in plain words, the way you would ask a teammate. For example:

    * Build a list of people who match your ideal customer.
    * Brief you on an account before a call, from your CRM and past calls.
    * Find the calls last week that connected but did not book a meeting, and draft follow-ups.
    * Update records in your connected CRM, after you approve.

    See [Ask Ari for real work](/ari/what-ari-does) for prompts you can copy.
  </Accordion>
</AccordionGroup>

## Approvals and safety

<AccordionGroup>
  <Accordion title="Will Ari change my CRM or send emails without asking?">
    No. Ari reads your call history, lists, CRM and the web, and drafts on its own. Anything that
    changes your CRM, sends an email or a Slack message, spends credits, adds people to a sequence
    or deletes something shows an approval card first. Nothing runs until you click **Approve**.

    See [Approve what Ari changes](/ari/approvals-and-permissions).
  </Accordion>

  <Accordion title="Where do I see what Ari did?">
    Open **Ari** in the left sidebar. It shows what Ari did for you, what is waiting on you, and
    the jobs it runs for you. See [Review what Ari did](/ari/work-log-and-credits).
  </Accordion>

  <Accordion title="Can Ari work while I'm not in the app?">
    Yes, with routines. A routine is a job Ari runs on a schedule, or when something happens, such
    as a logged call. Steps that need approval still wait for you. See
    [Give Ari a standing job](/ari/responsibilities-and-routines).
  </Accordion>

  <Accordion title="Can I talk to Ari in Slack?">
    Only if your admin has connected Ari to your team's Slack workspace. If they have not, use Ari
    in the app. See [Connect Ari to Slack](/ari/slack-setup).
  </Accordion>
</AccordionGroup>

## Data and cost

<AccordionGroup>
  <Accordion title="Where does Ari find the people in a list?">
    In Salesfinity's data network, and in your connected CRM when you ask it to work with your own
    records. Building a list costs no credits.
  </Accordion>

  <Accordion title="Will every person in the list have a phone number and email?">
    Not always. Phone numbers and emails are opt-in. When you ask for them, Ari tells you how many
    people it will look up and waits for your approval. Some people will not have a number or email
    that can be found.
  </Accordion>

  <Accordion title="Does Ari cost credits?">
    Only for phone and email lookups. Each contact where something is found uses 1 credit, and a
    lookup that finds nothing is free. Ari shows the count on an approval card before it spends
    anything.

    Ari's other work, like reading your CRM or drafting a sequence, does not use credits. Instead,
    each person has a monthly message limit, 500 messages by default, and a usage limit. Both reset
    at the start of each month. See [Track your credits and AI usage](/account/credits).
  </Accordion>

  <Accordion title="Can I use my Salesfinity data in Claude or another assistant?">
    Yes, with the [MCP server](/mcp/overview). To build your own automation, use the
    [REST API](/api-reference/introduction). Both read the same data as Ari.
  </Accordion>
</AccordionGroup>

<Tip>
  Ari did not reply, or an action did not happen? [Fix Ari problems](/ari/troubleshooting) walks
  through each case. If you still need us, send what you asked Ari, pasted as you typed it.
