# Listen in on live calls

> Hear your reps talk to prospects as it happens, read the live transcript, and coach them the moment the call ends.

You can hear any connected call on your floor and read a live transcript of it, without the rep
or the prospect hearing you. It's the fastest way to coach: you hear the real call, not a summary
of it.

**Before you start:** join the same floor as your reps. See
[Run a call block with your team](/salesfloor/run-a-call-block) to set one up.

<Info>
  Listening is one-way. You hear both sides of the call, but the rep and the prospect never hear
  you. There is no whisper or barge-in, so coach through a private message or after the call.
</Info>

## Listen to one call

<Steps>
  <Step title="Find a rep who is on a call">
    Look for a bubble marked **ON CALL**. It sits in the **Other Rooms** panel on the right.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Hover over their bubble">
    A small row of buttons appears above it.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Click the speaker button">
    You start hearing the call: the rep and the prospect. Your own bubble shows **LISTENING** so the
    floor knows you're tuned in. Click the speaker button again to stop.
  </Step>
</Steps>

While you listen, you won't hear the people in your own room. The call stops playing for you on its
own when the rep hangs up.

## Read along and help in the moment

The other buttons above an on-call bubble help you follow and support the call:

| Button | What it does |
| - | - |
| Speaker | Turns listening on or off for this call. |
| Transcript | Opens the live transcript. Each line is marked with the rep's name or **Prospect**, with the time. |
| Chat | Opens a private message to the rep in **Messages**. Use it to send a tip they can read during the call. |
| Person | Opens **Prospect Info** for the person on the line. It appears when the call came from one of your contact lists. |

<Tip>
  Keep chat tips short, like "Ask about their timeline." The rep is mid-conversation and will only
  glance at them.
</Tip>

## Turn on Auto Listen

**Auto Listen** connects you to the next live call for you, so you don't have to watch the floor.

<Steps>
  <Step title="Open Auto Listen">
    Click the headphones button in the bottom bar of the floor.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Pick who to listen to">
    Choose one option:

    * **Any live connect:** listen to whoever connects first.
    * **Specific users:** pick the reps you want to hear. Search by name and tick each one.
    * **Off:** turn Auto Listen off.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Keep working">
    When a matching rep connects, you start hearing their call. A dot on the headphones button
    shows Auto Listen is on.
  </Step>
</Steps>

A few rules keep Auto Listen out of your way:

* It picks up one call at a time. If you're already listening, it won't switch you to a new call.
* It stays quiet while you're on a call yourself, then picks up again when you're done.
* Your choice is saved in this browser, so it's still set the next time you join.

## Coach after the call

Listening is most useful when feedback comes fast. Once the rep logs the call and returns to their
room, hover over their room and click the arrow to join them. Or send a private message with one
thing that went well and one thing to try on the next call.

**You're done when:**

* You can hear a live call and read its transcript
* **Auto Listen** picks up the next call from the reps you chose
* Your reps get feedback within minutes of their calls
