Ari has its own Slack app. It is separate from the older Salesfinity Slack connection that posts call summaries into a channel; connecting Ari does not change that one, and disconnecting Ari does not remove it.

Connect

1

Open Settings › Ari

You need to be a team admin. Click Connect Slack.
2

Authorise in Slack

Slack asks which workspace to add Ari to and shows the permissions it needs: read messages it is sent or mentioned in, post messages and canvases, and see who is in the workspace. Approve. A Slack workspace admin may need to approve app installs first, depending on your workspace settings.
3

Check the connection

Settings shows the connected workspace and a Test button. The test posts a message from Ari to you.
Only one workspace can be connected per Salesfinity team. Connecting a different workspace replaces the first.

Who is who

Ari matches each Slack user to a Salesfinity teammate by email. When it cannot (different email on Slack, a shared account, a contractor), it replies with a link. Opening the link while signed in to Salesfinity links that Slack user to the signed-in person, who must be a member of the team. The link expires after a short time; ask again to get a new one. Until a Slack user is linked, Ari will not act for them, because it would not know whose CRM, lists and follow-ups to use.

Talking to Ari

  • Direct message Ari for anything personal to you: your follow-ups, your lists, your accounts.
  • Mention @Ari in a channel or thread to bring it into a conversation. It reads the thread it was mentioned in and answers there. It does not read channels it was not invited to or mentioned in.
  • Thread replies continue the conversation. Ari keeps the context of the thread, so “now do the same for the other list” works.
Long answers arrive as a canvas attached to the thread, so a 200-row table does not scroll the channel. Tables, files and CSVs Ari produces are delivered the same way.

Approvals in Slack

When Ari needs permission, it posts a card in the thread or DM with Approve and Reject buttons and a one-line summary of what it will do (which records, how many, what it will cost). Approving resumes the work; rejecting stops that action, and Ari says what it did not do. The same approval also appears on the rep’s Ari page in the app, so either place works. Questions work the same way: a card with the question, answered by replying in the thread.

Delivery: where standing work reports

A responsibility reports to a DM or to a thread you pick when you set it up. A monitor born from a Slack thread reports back into that thread by default. Reports go only where you said; Ari does not post into channels on its own.

Disconnect

Disconnect in Settings › Ari removes the Slack connection. Responsibilities stay, but any that deliver to Slack pause until Slack is reconnected. Nothing else about the team changes.

Troubleshooting

Check, in order: the connection under Settings › Ari is green and the test message arrives; Ari has been added to the channel (mention it once and accept the “add to channel” prompt); your Slack user is linked (DM Ari and see whether it replies with a link).
Your Slack email does not match your Salesfinity email. Open the link Ari sent while signed in to Salesfinity as yourself. If the link expired, ask Ari again.
The approval may already have been decided from the app, or the run it belonged to ended. Open the Ari page in the app and check the feed. If the card is stale, ask Ari to try again.
Reinstalling the app, a token revoked by a Slack admin, or the workspace being migrated all invalidate the connection. Disconnect and connect again from Settings › Ari.
Open the responsibility in the app. If its delivery is a thread that was deleted or a DM to a user who left, change the delivery. If Slack is disconnected, reconnect it.
