When Ari is in your Slack workspace, you can ask it for work in a DM or a thread, and approve its changes without leaving Slack. Admins set it up once for the whole team. Ari has its own Slack app. It’s separate from the Salesfinity Slack connection on the Connections tab that posts call alerts. Connecting one doesn’t change the other.
If you don’t see the Slack seat section under Settings › Ari, or the connection doesn’t finish, contact your account team. You can always use Ari in the app.

Connect Slack (admins)

Open Settings › Ari

You need to be a team admin or the team owner. In Slack seat, click Connect Slack.

Approve in Slack

Slack asks which workspace to add Ari to and lists what Ari needs. That includes reading messages in channels it’s in and in its DMs, posting messages, working with canvases and files, and seeing who is in the workspace and their email addresses. Your Slack admin may need to approve new apps first.

Say hello

Slack seat now reads “Connected to” your workspace. DM Ari, or mention @Ari in a channel it has joined, to check that it answers.
You can connect one Slack workspace per Salesfinity team. Connecting a different one replaces the first.

How Ari knows who you are

Ari matches each Slack user to a Salesfinity teammate by the email on their Slack profile. If the emails don’t match, Ari replies with a link. Open it while you’re signed in to Salesfinity, on the same team, to link your accounts. The link works for 24 hours. Mention Ari again for a new one. Until you’re linked, Ari won’t do anything for you. It wouldn’t know whose CRM and lists to use.

Ask Ari in Slack

  • DM Ari for anything about your own work: your follow-ups, your lists, your accounts.
  • Mention @Ari in a channel or a thread to bring it in. It reads the thread, or the recent messages in the channel, and answers in a thread.
  • Reply in the thread to keep going. Ari remembers the thread, so “now do the same for the other list” works. Replies meant for someone else get no answer from Ari.
Long lists and documents arrive in the thread as a Slack canvas, so they don’t flood the channel. A list also comes as a CSV file.

Approve in Slack

When Ari needs your OK, it posts a card in the thread or DM. The card shows what will happen: for an email, who it goes to, the subject and the start of the message.
  • Approve lets Ari carry on.
  • Reject skips that step. Ari tells you what it didn’t do.
  • Edit & approve, when it appears, lets you change the details first.
The person Ari is working for, or a team admin, can decide a card. The same approval also shows on that person’s Ari page, and deciding it in one place updates the other.

Disconnect

Click Disconnect under Settings › Ari. Standing jobs keep running, but their results stay on the Ari page until you connect Slack again.

Fix Slack problems

Check three things, in order. Settings › Ari shows the workspace as connected. Ari is in the channel (mention it once and accept Slack’s prompt to add it). Your Slack account is linked (DM Ari and see if it sends you a link).
Your Slack email doesn’t match your Salesfinity email. Open the link Ari sent while you’re signed in to Salesfinity on the same team. If the link expired, mention Ari again.
Someone may have already decided it in the app, or you aren’t the person Ari was working for and aren’t an admin. Check the Activity tab on the Ari page.
Reinstalling the app or a Slack admin removing it breaks the connection. Click Reconnect Slack under Settings › Ari.
The thread may be gone, or Ari may have left the channel. Ask Ari to report somewhere else. It updates the job you have. Until then, results are on the Ari page.
