Coaching tips are short nudges a rep sees while they are still on the call: Slow down, Let them talk, Let them finish. They catch the habits you would normally point out in a call review the next day, at the moment the rep can still fix them. Tips come from the rhythm of the conversation: who is talking, for how long and how fast. They are separate from the line to say that Live Assist suggests when a prospect pushes back.
Coaching tips are part of Live Assist, an add-on your CSM turns on for your team.

The tips, and when each one shows

Each tip has a threshold you can change. These are the defaults.

How tips behave on a call

Tips are built to be glanced at, not read.
  • A tip appears as a small amber pill under the call bar, and as a chip in the Live Assist card. It never lights up the edges of the screen. That glow is kept for a line to say.
  • A tip stays for 5 seconds, then leaves on its own.
  • No tips show in the first 10 seconds of a call.
  • At most one tip shows every 20 seconds. You can change this spacing.
  • The same tip shows at most once a minute.
  • If two tips apply at once, the rep sees the one they can act on right away. Let them finish comes first, then Pause — ask a question, Let the question land, Slow down and Let them talk.
If your team uses Card only as the on-screen style, tips show inside the Live Assist card only, so make sure the card is in your team’s layout.

Choose which tips your team sees

Owners and admins set tips for the whole team.
1

Open the Live Assist settings

Go to Settings → Coaching, find the Live Assist card and click Change.
2

Go to 3. When to interrupt the rep

The switch on the section title turns all tips on or off.
3

Set each tip

Each tip has its own switch and a slider for its threshold. For example, move Slow down from 175 to 190 words a minute if your reps naturally talk fast.
4

Set the spacing

Under Spacing, choose how often a tip may appear. The default is at most one tip every 20 seconds.
5

Save

Click Save Live Assist settings. The new thresholds apply from the next call.

See which tips a rep got

When a call ends, the Live Assist card shows a recap with a Nudges count and one chip for each kind of tip the rep got, such as Monologue, Talk ratio, Interruption, Pace or Question landing. For the full picture after the call, use the scorecard. It grades Tone & pace and shows the rep’s Talk Ratio across the whole call. See Score calls with your team’s rubric.
